Grant Awarding Manager and Associate Professor, University of Novi Sad, Republic of Serbia

“To combat antimicrobial resistance we have put our efforts on research on developing alternatives to antibiotics along with raising awareness among current and future veterinarians about antimicrobial stewardship principles”.

Dr. Kovacevic is an Associate Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the Department of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Novi Sad in the Republic of Serbia. Her main research interests include antimicrobial resistance and antimicrobial use in veterinary medicine, as well as potential alternatives to antimicrobial treatment along with the implementation of antimicrobial stewardship principles. Currently, she is the principal investigator on the InfoBomat PROMIS project founded by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia. This project aims to develop and test ethnoveterinary, intramammary formulation as an alternative or additional therapy to existing antimicrobial treatment in the cure of bovine mastitis.
