Dr. JONATHAN GÓMEZ-RAJA

Whatever we do in science, should be communicated, and NOT only disseminated. We need to explain to the public what we do as scientists to improve their life

Dr. Gomez-Raja has a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Extremadura (Spain) and a Postdoc at the University of Minnesota (USA). Additionally, Master’s degree in Bioinformatics and Data Science in the healthcare sector from “Instituto de Salud Carlos III” (Spain) and a Master’s degree in promotion and management of international research and innovation programmes from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (Spain). He is an expert in Genetics and Molecular Biology and his research has been focused on human fungal diseases and infectious diseases. He has developed his career in the USA, India, Germany, and Spain. Author of several articles published in scientific journals as well as book chapters. Regular reviewer in European funding programmes and relevant JCR-indexed journals. He has participated as a researcher and principal investigator in several research projects and coordinator in national and international scientific activities. External expert for the Spanish Medicine Agency (AEMPS). Several awards by the Regional Government and the Federation of European Microbiological Societies; FEMS. He has been an adjunct professor at the University of Extremadura and currently is Chief Scientific Officer at FundeSalud, Dept. of Health and Social Services at the Government of Extremadura and a professor at the European University. His principal aim is to promote research, innovation, and internationalization in the health and care system in the autonomous region of Extremadura (Spain).
